Then, a chemical change occurs, converting the elemental mercury into the more stable and non-vapor-producing mercuric sulfide. Mercon-X™ converts mercury to mercuric sulfide, which is the natural compound found in nature before mercury ore is mined and refined. The patented mercury decontamination formula is designed to increase the surface reactivity between the active ingredients and available mercury molecules. The formula absorbs available mercury molecules from surfaces and the surrounding air.
